The amount of chewing gum on the High Street pavement, the late-night noise from the local pubs, the amount of graffiti on the supermarket wall, the frustrating car-parking situation down my street, the lack of anywhere to go with my mates....What has given you real ‘beef’ in your community recently? What is ‘getting your goat’?

Do something about it! Revolutionaries don’t sit there moaning, they get stuck in and make things happen.

Very few of us in our Western culture are without the means to get our voice heard. There’s ways of getting heard, which might not sound very revolutionary and cool, but might start changing your communities for the better. Why not speak to your local councillor or MP? Why not be a spokesperson for the people down your street?
-
When we’re seen to be doing something about a problem, then people begin to ask questions: Why are they bothered? Why are they so concerned? Why does it seem to matter to them? What’s driving their actions?
-
Start changing your community by changing your attitude to how you respond to community problems.
