What does Christmas mean to you?
We would like to hear you thoughts on what Christmas means to you. Please add your ideas a the bottom of this page.
Here's one from Naomi Allen from Kent to start you off:
For me the Christmas story is all about being humble - being humble: like the opposite of being really arrogant and thinking you're amazing, more like realising you can't do things on your own, need help, aren't perfect, doing things for others.
If we look at Jesus, he was the son of God! He deserved to be born in a Palace, to have servants waiting on him day and night, he deserved a massive proclamation about his royal birth. However he was born in a dirty stable, wrapped in an old rag, with hardly anyone knowing about it. That is humility.
At Christmas I am always challenged, who do i do things for? Do i do things for others, or for myself? For me Christmas is a big family affair; it's not often that we all get together so it's special when we do. I love the fact that at this one time of the year we can spend time together being nice and genuinely enjoying each other.
It's a chance to be able to help out more, help my parents tidy the house, help my mum with the cooking, help my dad with the decorations, help my grandad park the car, help my brother complete the next level of his new game. Being humble is putting others before yourself and seeing their need as being greater - if Jesus did it, maybe we should all give it a go!
