Mission
Hope Revolution desires to see young people bring the love of Jesus to our nation through what we say and what we do. In the same way that God so loved the world that he sent Jesus (John 3.16), He in turn sends us. Hope revolution continues His mission today, as we empower young people to radically respond to the great commission of Christ. Jesus’ last words to his disciples and to us today are:
‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore ‘Go’, and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you and surely I will be with you always till the very end of age’ (Matt 28.20).
Praise God we do not ‘Go’ in our strength. We recognise that God’s power is made perfect in weakness (2 Cor 12:9) and that as we ‘Go’, we go in His strength and in the assurance that Jesus comes with us. This is amazing news because He is the one ‘in whom we can do all things’ (Phil 4.14).
As Hope revolution and young people across the whole country enter the mission we place ourselves in Jesus’ hands, as His tool surrendered to His will. We follow His command in obedience to ‘Go’, loving Him, and loving our neighbour as ourselves (Mark 12: 30-31). With our words and actions may we be soul winners for Jesus. As Spurgeon, the 19th century evangelist famously said:
‘Even if I were utterly selfish and had no care for anything but my own happiness, I would chose if I might, under God, to be a soul-winner; for never did I know perfect, overflowing, unutterable happiness of the purest and most enabling order till I first heard of one who had sought and found the saviour through my means’
