Bristol Noise
The Noise Weekend is jam packed full each summer with loads of different projects and activities going on around the city of Bristol.
What happens in each community looks slightly different, but here are
some of things that you might come across:
COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION
Over the 3 days, Noise volunteers will be working hard on a range of practical projects. These projects have been suggested by people who live and work within the local community with the aim to have an immediate and long term impact. This might include school renovation, work in sheltered housing accommodation and community centres, gardening for individuals, public tidy up and cutting back of overgrown public spaces and rubbish clearance.
The Noise is works closely with other local community organisations (statutory and voluntary), so that together we can identify the projects which will be of most benefit to the community. If you know of any community based projects that we could help with during The Noise we would love to hear from you. Are you involved with a community group that could use some extra manpower?
FAMILY FUN AFTERNOONS
The Noise Family Fun Afternoons are locally based events which happen over the whole weekend. The whole community is invited to enjoy an afternoon that has something for everyone to get involved in, and where everything on offer is completely FREE! There are different age-related zones, bouncy castles and inflatable games, face painting, a café area, and an all afternoon roadshow.
COMMUNITY BBQS
Alongside some of the Family Fun Afternoons we will also be running a Community BBQ. Join the queue for a FREE burger and a bun!
SENIOR CITIZENS BANQUETS
On the Sunday afternoon of the Noise weekend, we will be hosting a banquet for senior citizens in Horfield/Lockleaze, in Southmead, and in Sea Mills. This includes a 3 course dinner, and some light entertainment and a real ‘sense of occasion’!
SPORTS ACTIVITIES
There are opportunities to take part in some football skills training and tournaments, anyone interested in taking part will need to get a registration form filled in and signed by a parent/carer.
